What's New

Release 4.5.8030

PBI released version 4.5.8030 in the 4th quarter of 2008. This release included a number of bug fixes as well as some exciting new features pertaining to the Metalayer treeview. The following are several new features included in this release:

Multiple Treeviews – Multiple treeviews can now be created. Site and user defaults can also be set. Users can switch between treeviews if the proper security access is given.

Unlimited Treeview Levels – There is now a virtually unlimited number of levels that can be set up in the treeview hierarchy.

Loading Treeview Fields - Users should see an improvement in speed when loading the treeview.

Treeview Corruption – In previous releases, if a network interruption occurred while saving treeview changes – this could lead to a corruption of the treeview. Improvements have been made to the save process to significantly reduce the chance of corruption.

We are contacting clients on an individual basis to schedule upgrades. If you have not yet been contacted and would like to take advantage of these new features – please email customer.care@precisionbi.com for further information or to schedule an upgrade.

New Additions to the PBI Team

PBI recently welcomed two new employees to our team.  In November, Beth Fink became our new Quality Assurance Analyst.  Beth’s office is located in Flower Mound, Texas.  She brings an extensive background in software implementation, testing, and documentation to her new role.  She will be working closely with our development team to create a more quality driven environment.

W. Scott Roberts jointed the PBI team in late January as a Client Support Analyst.  Scott has over ten years experience in the area of software support.  He is currently working from our main office in Wyomissing, PA.   Scott will be assisting the support team in providing timely responses to customer questions and inquiries.

PBI Design Group

PBI is forming a Design Group that will meet periodically to discuss software features being developed for our .net conversion.  The Administrative Modules will be the first area to be converted in 2009.  These include features in each of the following areas:  Security, Metalayer Engine, Scheduler Administration, Object Management, User Audit, Process Management and Dashboard Management.  The Design Group conference calls will include demonstrations to review previous discussion items followed by a review of an additional menu option from the Administration module.  Representatives from a variety of client sites will be participating and providing input.

During these calls we will be looking for input on functionality and possible new enhancements.  All input will be reviewed and prioritized by the Design team using the customer.care@precisionbi.com case system.

James Barninger will be the moderator for PBI during these calls.  Following the call meeting minutes will be distributed for review and further input.  To keep the call manageable we are limiting each client to one main representative participating on the call.  This representative can convey any issues/new features from the Design Group to their respective team(s).

If you have not submitted a representative and would like to participate with the Design Group please forward the name, e-mail address, and phone number of the contact person to rkashner@precisionbi.com.  We would like to have the first call in the March timeframe so please forward the representative as soon as possible if you have not already done so.
